Ongkor Festival

Ongkor Festival is celebrated by Tibetan people living in agricultural areas for harvest. In the agricultural areas of Tibet, Ongkor Festival is even more important than the Tibetan New Year!


People will erect tents before the festival and well-dressed men will ride horses to revolve around fields. After the festival, people will also hold competitions of horse racing and archery. In some places artists are also invited to perform Tibetan opera.
