Full-time tourism development of Tibet

The first round of "Winter Tourism in Tibet · Sharing the Third Pole of the World" has made a historic breakthrough in winter tourism marketing of Tibet, with a total revenue of 3.12 billion yuan RMB, up 68.6% year-on-year.

 
The second round of this activity has achieved a total tourism revenue of 2.857 billion yuan RMB, with a year-on-year growth of 39.1%.
 
The third round of this activity has started since October 15, 2019, and will be ended on March 15, 2020.
 
In order to solve the problem of "semi-annual economy" of tourism in Tibet, realize the "no off-season", develop the brand of "the Third Pole of the World", and promote the development of tourism industry, Tibet Autonomous Region has launched three rounds of activities themed on "Winter Tourism in Tibet · Sharing the Third Pole of the World" since February 2018. The product attraction, brand influence and market competitive of "Winter Tourism in Tibet" have been continuously consolidated and improved.
 
Through extensive publicity and promotion, tourism promotion activities of "Winter Tourism in Tibet" has been carried out in Shanghai, Yunnan, Hebei, Sichuan and other places, with the wide coverage and significant results, laying the solid foundation for promoting the full-time tourism development of Tibet.
 
Aviation and railway departments have actively participated in the market development of "Winter Tourism in Tibet", introducing suitable round-trip ticket combination; the tourism automobile companies and hotels have planned ahead in room arrangement and price setting, for ensuring the smooth development of "Winter Tourism in Tibet".
 
Meanwhile, for creating a good marketing environment, Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Development Department and relevant departments have jointly carried out rectification actions and safety inspection works, with the theme of "safety" and "service". A total of 146 times of tourism safety inspections and 1,185 times of tourism marketing inspections have been organized, and 1,212 tourism enterprises have been checked, which effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of tourists, and ensure the orderly and safe operation of tourism market.
 
In 2020, through the activity of "Winter Tourism in Tibet", T.A.R. will further increase the income of farmers and herdsman, promote the communications and exchanges among all ethnic groups, and boost the all-region & full-time development of tourism industry.
