July 4,2019--The culture event series “Meet Across Millennium” showcasing the civilizations along the Belt and Road kicked off on June 28 in Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain. The event was co-sponsored by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China and the Chinese Embassy in Barcelona.

During the event, a book fair with over 300 categories of books on display was held. The books on Chinese history and culture, Silk Road, and various religions in China offer an opportunity for Spanish people to better understand China, especially its western region.

An art exhibition showcasing the love of Spanish painter JoelBlanco for the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu Province was also held during the event. Blanco travelled in China in 2017 and was deeply impressed by the beauty of the Mogao Grottoes.
